Harvest Home table for donations.  This year, we are coordinating with the Salvation Army to provide Thanksgiving food baskets for needy families in our area.  Each basket will feed a family of 4-6 people.  We are providing the food, and the Salvation Army will handle the distribution.  We are asking the congregation to provide specific food items (lists are available in the Overflow Area).  You may also donate cash (to cover the cost of the turkeys) or grocery store gift cards to purchase extra food items needed.  (Aldi's or Weis please)  If you are not comfortable leaving cash or gift cards on the table, you may give to Connie in the office, or to Barb Kleckner.  We will be collecting the food items from now until Nov. 20th.  This will allow us time to prepare and deliver the baskets in time for Thanksgiving.  PLEASE BRING ONLY THE ITEMS REQUESTED ON THE LIST.  Thanks so much for helping Bethany to support this important ministry.
Items needed are: large box instant mashed potatoes, large box stuffing mix, canned cranberry sauce, canned vegetables (peas, corn, beans, etc.), canned sweet potatoes, large box macaroni, boxed cereal, peanut butter, jelly, canned pork and beans, cans of soup, boxed dessert mix (for example, Jello-type no-bake pie mix or similar)

Hanging of the Greens - Please come & enjoy the fun on November 25th for Hanging of the Greens at 6:30pm to decorate Bethany for the Christmas season.  Everyone is welcome and the more helpers we have, the quicker it will be decorated.

The same study will be offered at two different times: Wednesdays at 10:00, starting on Jan. 8, 2020 and on Thursday evenings, starting on Jan. 9, 2020. The study will be for 12 sessions, so we will be completing it before Easter. Cost of the workbook is $10. Sign up sheet is in the welcome area.

Please bring the boxes to the church and we will get them to the Collection drop-off.  The boxes are due at the church by November 17.  Please find boxes and information on how to pack a shoebox on the table in the Overflow area or contact the Office

Safe Sanctuary – All volunteers and employees must turn in their Safe Sanctuary certificates and all other clearances to the Church Office as soon as possible.  All Clearance documentation must be kept in the Church office.  Thank you.

Prayer requests reminder: We keep people’s names on the “Current Prayer” list for 3 weeks and then names are moved to the “Continue to Pray For” list for 3 weeks before being removed from the bulletin unless otherwise requested.  The Beacon contains the complete list and a requested long-term prayer list.

If you are hospitalized and desire a pastoral visit, you will need to contact the church office.  Because of HIPAA laws the hospital does not give out information and even a hospital worker saying they will contact your pastor does not necessarily mean that it happens. HIPAA law does not recognize a person's nickname, so please let the pastor know of the person's given name as well.

Transportation Ministry – Would you be willing to give transportation to a few of our parishioners who are unable to drive to the church on Sunday mornings for worship services?  Please contact Pastor Steve or Connie.  The van ministry needs your help because this is a very important ministry we do not want to lose.

Request a Prayer Square – If anyone is in need of a prayer square, please contact Sally Campbell or Edna McClintock (8:30 service) and Rose Hunsinger or Christine Portner (11:00 service).  You may also contact the church office during normal office hours.

Bethany United Methodist Church - Peacemakers Prayer Support Ministry
Matthew 5:9  Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
Started on January 8th, 2017, our Bethany church family began a very special prayer outreach program showing our support for local Police Departments and Officers.  These men and women that keep our communities safe have been deeply impacted by recent events that have captivated the news media.  They deserve and need our respect and prayer support.
There will be an insert in the Church Bulletin each week requesting your prayer support. The insert will provide a list of local Police Departments for general prayer and a list of officer names, one name each day, for specific prayers.
Prayer suggestions for officers may be for God's guidance, wisdom, courage and protection.  Prayer for the departments may include community acceptance and support, excellent leadership, teamwork within the department and between departments and safety.
Please place this bulletin in a location where it will remind you to take a few minutes to pray each day.  Perhaps the kitchen table or attached to the refrigerator would be a choice location.  Thank you, in advance, for your very important prayer support for our peacekeepers.
