A group of Quilters will meet monthly on the third Thursday of each month in the Stained Glass Room from 6:00-9:00 pm.  The purpose is for each person to work on her Dear Jane Project.  These quilts are being made to replicate a Civil War era quilt.  This is an ongoing activity, but anyone wishing to be involved is very welcome!  This is also an opportunity for anyone who wants to learn or work on paper pieced projects.  Call Susan Forsythe at 570-759-1076 for further details.  If you want to check out the quilt or learn more about this activity, join us for the evening.

It will be an honor system from 8:00 am – 8 pm.  Totes will be located under the canopy at the back of the church.   We have handed out flyers to several needy homes close to the church and the balance of the items collected will be distributed to The Gate House in Danville and the Woman’s Shelter.    Your donations are greatly appreciated.  A pink tote will be placed in the back of the sanctuary for donations.  Cash donations can be dropped off at the church office or put in the special offering envelopes and placed in the offering plate.  Please mark your envelopes PB&J outreach.  Please see Barb Erb or Kellie Wojciechowski with any questions.

Safe Sanctuary – All volunteers and employees must turn in their Safe Sanctuary certificates and all other clearances to the Church Office as soon as possible.  All Clearance documentation must be kept in the Church office.  Thank you.

Prayer requests reminder: We keep people’s names on the “Current Prayer” list for 3 weeks and then names are moved to the “Continue to Pray For” list for 3 weeks before being removed from the bulletin unless otherwise requested.  The Beacon contains the complete list and a requested long-term prayer list.

If you are hospitalized and desire a pastoral visit, you will need to contact the church office.  Because of HIPAA laws the hospital does not give out information and even a hospital worker saying they will contact your pastor does not necessarily mean that it happens. HIPAA law does not recognize a person's nickname, so please let the pastor know of the person's given name as well.

Transportation Ministry – Would you be willing to give transportation to a few of our parishioners who are unable to drive to the church on Sunday mornings for worship services?  Please contact Pastor Steve or Connie.  The van ministry needs your help because this is a very important ministry we do not want to lose.

Request a Prayer Square – If anyone is in need of a prayer square, please contact Sally Campbell or Edna McClintock (8:30 service) and Rose Hunsinger or Christine Portner (11:00 service).  You may also contact the church office during normal office hours.

Bethany United Methodist Church - Peacemakers Prayer Support Ministry
Matthew 5:9  Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.

  • On January 8th, 2017 our Bethany church family began a very special prayer outreach program showing our support for local Police Departments and Officers.  These men and women that keep our communities safe have been deeply impacted by recent events that have captivated the news media.  They deserve and need our respect and prayer support.
  • There will be an insert in the Church Bulletin each week, beginning January 8th, requesting your prayer support. The insert will provide a list of local Police Departments for general prayer and a list of officer names, one name each day, for specific prayers.
  • Prayer suggestions for officers may be for God's guidance, wisdom, courage and protection.  Prayer for the departments may include community acceptance and support, excellent leadership, teamwork within the department and between departments and safety.
  • Please place this bulletin in a location where it will remind you to take a few minutes to pray each day.  Perhaps the kitchen table or attached to the refrigerator would be a choice location.  Thank you, in advance, for your very important prayer support for our peacekeepers.
