What is this service like?
At Bethany we offer a Contemporary service each Sunday morning located in our auditorium (which we affectionately refer to as the Big Room) beginning at 11:00 A.M. This service is specifically geared towards those new to their faith or those who are seeking a less formal worship environment. We invite you to come as you are! Our worship team will lead the congregation in songs that you may be used to hearing on popular Christian radio, and our Pastor, Stephen Portner, will speak to life changing and applicable Biblical truths for today's world.
What do I do with my children?
Early in the course of the service we have a weekly "Children's Moment" designed to connect your young ones to applicable truths from Gods Word. Following the Children’s Moment, kids from age 2 - 5th grade are welcome to head downstairs for a time of child-oriented worship. Not only will they have a great time, but you'll have the peace of mind knowing that all of our volunteers are in compliance with the training and background checks required by our Safe Sanctuaries policy.
Will I have to sign in, give, or be singled out?
Only if you want to! At Bethany, we strive to be a welcoming, hospitable community of believers. Because of this we practice a time of greeting during our Sunday morning service and it's very possible someone may come up and introduce themselves to you, however we won't publicly identify or ask you to introduce yourself. Rather, we would greatly appreciate if you would fill out one of our connection cards located in each of our bulletins. These cards allow us learn a little more about you as you learn a little more about us. Once completed, you can simply place that in the offering plate during the offering time of the service.
Where can I park and where do I go?
Parking is available in the lot on Summerhill Avenue and behind the church building (entrance on Pine Street). The first spaces on the 16th and Pine Street parking lot are reserved for individuals with wheelchairs or needing assistance to our wheelchair accessible front door. Any of our entrances will lead you up the stairs to our main worship area. There is a Welcome Desk in the overflow area of the sanctuary where all kinds of information is available.
